TOWN IN THE ARCHITECT’S JOURNAL.

TOWN directors Jonny Anstead and Neil Murphy are featured in a Q&A in this week’s Architect’s Journal.

Only a fraction of new housing built in the UK involves an architect, and it shows.  It’s vital if standards of design and construction are to be raised that developers build relationships with and champion the role of architects.  The stereotype of the architect as an ego far removed from such vulgar concerns as cost and programme is now largely misplaced, if it wasn’t always; and TOWN is one of a growing band of small developers for which performance, durability and aesthetics are seen as indivisible from (rather than ancillary to) commercial value.
