We’re very pleased to announce that Hartree has been nominated for a 2024 Pineapple Award in the category of Community Engagement

The Pineapples, which are run by The Developer and Festival of Place, celebrate the very best in placemaking and place-led initiatives. The Community Engagement category is judged on how nominees have connected meaningfully with stakeholders and citizens, and how their feedback has shaped decision making on the project.

Over the last three years, the Hartree team have engaged with communities across Cambridge. Realising our project value ‘Shaped by Many’, we have spoken to thousands of people through a series of pop-ups, roadshows, focussed stakeholder workshops and meetings, door-knocking sessions, and the People City Planet Festival that took place in October 2022. Alongside our public engagement work, we have convened the Ideas Exchange, a demographically representative group of 18 residents from the surrounding area, who have been immersed in all elements of the design development process through regular meetings with the project team. We have also held targeted engagement workshop sessions with young people and those with disabilities, in partnership with Cambridge Curiosity and Imagination, and advocacy charity Voiceability.
