TOWN, the UK’s leading developer of cohousing communities, has launched a new register for people who would like to find out more about cohousing, or to live in one of TOWN’s cohousing developments

Cohousing brings people with shared values together in communities they help conceive, design and manage. It enables residents to know their neighbours better and fosters more sustainable, community-oriented ways of living. It offers people a private home, but with access to additional, shared spaces that help support community life. It is characterised by the involvement of residents in its design stages, and in the management of the community once it is complete.

Building on the success of Marmalade Lane, which has become recognised as a leading example of housing design and delivery, TOWN is now expanding its cohousing activities, bringing forward 150 new homes across six new developments.

Frances Wright, TOWN’s Head of Community Partnering (and Marmalade Lane resident), says, “Our new cohousing register will help us understand the level of demand for cohousing, and to match future residents with current and future cohousing projects in our pipeline. It will also offer people the opportunity to find out more about TOWN’s cohousing projects, to learn from other cohousing communities, and join relevant events and learning opportunities.”
