TOWN Founding Director Jonny Anstead has become Chair of the Quality of Life Foundation, a charity that helps local communities, professionals and policy makers to plan, design, create and care for homes and neighbourhoods in ways that will benefit people’s health and wellbeing in the long term.

The Foundation was established in 2019 by Professor Sadie Morgan OBE, and since that time Jonny has been one of the Trustees overseeing the organisation’s work. From July 202, Jonny’s role is to oversee the activities of the Quality of Life Foundation, and to chair the board of Trustees that is responsible for the charity’s governance.

The Quality of Life Foundation undertakes a mix of research, advocacy and consultancy, with a collective aim of improving the impact of homes and neighbourhoods to the quality of life of the people who live in them. Its activities include research around community engagement and neighbourhood design, the implementation of the Quality of Life Framework – a toolkit to support and assess the performance of homes and neighbourhoods in supporting wellbeing, and post-occupancy evaluation to understand how people feel about their new homes and neighbourhoods.
