In recent months, TOWN has collaborated closely with the Still Green cohousing group in a series of co-design workshops as part of our Love Wolverton project.

Our joint efforts have focused on optimising the external staircase and deck access to maximise daylight and outlook. This involved exploring the introduction of a glazed lightwell, a concept supported by daylight and sunlight modelling conducted with JGC engineers. An in-person workshop was conducted to evaluate the mechanical and electrical strategy, emphasising user perspectives.

Additionally, we explored material specifications for cladding on walls facing the courtyard, carefully balancing technical requirements with aesthetic considerations. The group made decisions on their preferred front door design, including the arrangement of sidelights. Detailed discussions also took place regarding the design of the courtyard garden, with a planting strategy formulated to allow the group to undertake planting upon occupation.
