Marmalade Lane was recently recognised with an award from RIBA East award at a ceremony in Cambridge.

The RIBA’s write-up of the development noted especially the shared lane running through the heart of the scheme, describing it as “element is an impressive display of shared living that has become a symbol of the cohousing project”. TOWN and Mole were j0ined by members of K1 Cohousing to collect the award.

The award was one of two won by Mole Architects on the night – the other being for its housing development for Cambridge University at Eddington.

The winner of the RIBA Building of the Year was the Dorothy Garrod Building for Newnham College in Cambridge; a wonderful building that we are lucky pass often, especially in the evening when it brings a warming glow to Sidgwick Avenue.
